Abuja, 22 April 2026 — The Founder of Women Community in Africa (WCA), Dr. Khadijah Abdullahi Iya, has commended the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, for his sustained efforts in tackling economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.
Dr Iya gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where she led a delegation of WCA officials to engage the Commission on possible areas of collaboration.
She acknowledged the demanding nature of anti-corruption work and noted that the Commission’s efforts are already yielding visible results. According to her, WCA is prepared to partner with the EFCC in promoting accountability and discouraging corrupt practices across communities.

Highlighting the organisation’s impact, Dr Iya outlined WCA’s initiatives across Africa, including its annual summits and periodic retreats. These platforms, she said, focus on literacy, leadership development, women’s participation in governance, and empowerment, all aimed at fostering responsible and value-driven societies.
Responding, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede emphasised the critical role of women in nation-building, particularly in shaping values and influencing the next generation. He expressed the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with WCA and similar organisations to strengthen advocacy and deepen the fight against corruption.
“We will continue to work with women groups to fight corruption. Women play crucial roles in child development and value orientation, and their contributions are essential in building a corruption-free society,” he said.
The visit marks a step towards stronger institutional collaboration between civil society organisations and anti-corruption agencies, as stakeholders continue to push for greater transparency, integrity, and accountability in governance.
