Panic Grips Imo State As Unknown Gunmen Reportedly Abduct Retired Nigerian Major-General

A state of panic has descended upon Imo State, located in Nigeria’s South-East region, following the reported abduction of a retired Major-General. The victim, identified as Maj Gen RC Duru (rtd), was allegedly kidnapped in the Orji General area of Owerri North Local Government Area.

According to sources, Maj Gen Duru was driving a black Mercedes Benz ML jeep when he fell prey to the armed assailants. The incident reportedly occurred last weekend, sending shockwaves through the community.

News reports obtained a signal that shed light on the incident, stating, “He was abducted by four individuals traveling in a Toyota Sienna vehicle. The kidnappers also seized his vehicle, and security checkpoints were promptly alerted. His mobile phone, with the number 0803**, was traced to Mba Itoli in Imo State before being switched off.”

Intensive efforts are currently underway to locate the kidnappers and secure the release of the retired General. Authorities are urging citizens to discreetly utilize their contacts to expedite the safe return of the abducted Major-General.

Maj Gen Duru, who is a member of the 33rd Regular and NDC 18, has garnered widespread concern and attention as the community anxiously awaits news of his well-being and hopes for his swift and secure release.
