On September 21, 2023, the Enugu State Governorship Election Tribunal delivered a verdict, dismissing the accusation by Hon. Chijioke Edeoga of the LP that Governor Peter Mbah had a forged NYSC discharge certificate.
The tribunal’s ruling was based on the fact that Governor Mbah did not submit his NYSC certificate to INEC as part of his qualification to run for the governor’s office, as he was already qualified even without the NYSC certificate.
Furthermore, the tribunal rejected Edeoga’s witnesses, asserting that the LP’s gubernatorial candidate failed to provide any admissible evidence supporting the claim that Governor Mbah’s certificate was forged.
