Air Marshal Abubakar To Make NAF More Effective Against Boko Haram, ISWAP

Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, has emphasized the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) unwavering dedication to enhancing the operational efficiency of its functional aircraft to effectively address both present and emerging security challenges.

During his inaugural operational visit to the Air Training Command and associated NAF units in Kaduna, Abubakar conveyed this commitment to officers and personnel. A press release by NAF spokesperson Edward Gabkwet on Wednesday detailed these developments.

Abubakar affirmed the air force’s intent to strengthen its operational adaptability in collaborative endeavors with various joint and multi-agency contexts.

“In our pursuit of operational resilience, it is imperative that we proactively address the maintenance and logistical backing for our entire fleet. Each one of us has a role in ensuring that the NAF surpasses its current serviceability average of over 78%,” Abubakar stated.

The Air Chief acknowledged and praised the dedication of NAF members participating in Operation Whirl Punch, lauding their commitment to curbing the activities of criminal elements. He noted that their sacrifices and diligence have yielded positive impacts in regions such as the North-West, North-Central, and even the Federal Capital Territory.

Encouraging all personnel to align with his command philosophy, Abubakar emphasized his vision to transform the NAF into a flexible and robust force that can effectively meet the demands of national security across various operational landscapes.
