The dire security situation in Nigeria is such that requires great attention as Nigerians regardless of the positive impact they have made in the society are at the receiving end of bandits and unknown gunmen who desire to wreak havoc and cause great pain to others. On Thursday, the players of Sunshine FC in Ondo state were attacked by unknown hoodlums along Ore-Benin road.
Hon. Oguntodu condemns in totality the attack on Ondo shining stars, Sunshine FC. He stated the team was traveling to honor Saturday NPFL matchday 13 fixture against Bendel insurance in Benin when this disheartening incident happened.
Hon. Oguntodu empathised with the players, coaches and Management of Sunshine FC on the unfortunate incident, and urged them not to allow the incidents to dampen their morale on the titles in the ongoing season.
In his statement, he stated that the unfortunate incident clearly showed there’s a need to take the welfare of the teams participating in all the local leagues seriously and also improve the state of security across the country especially in this yuletide season.
Hon. Oguntodu, in his statement said his prayers are with the team at this trying time. He also wished the players and injured officials a speedy recovery.
