In the early hours of today, the news of the passing of esteemed NTA broadcaster Aisha Bello Mustapha reverberated across the internet. Nigerians took to major social media platforms to express their grief, remembering Aisha as a consummate professional and a model broadcaster.
On Twitter, user @therealdaddymo1 reminisced, “Rest in peace Aisha Bello. One of the most striking and recognizable faces on the NTA News back in the day. Such class. Such professionalism.”

The family of Aisha Bello released a statement announcing her demise: “Innalilahi wa inna Alaihin Rajiun. May Allah forgive our Mother Hajia Aishat Bello Mustapha.” The statement also conveyed details of the funeral arrangements, scheduled for 1 pm on Monday, 11th December 2023, at the central mosque in Abuja.
Aisha Bello, a former General Manager of NTA Parliament and a prominent newscaster on NTA Network from the 90s to the 20s, enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career before retiring in May 2022.
