In a vibrant display of civic pride and unity, the School for Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG), founded by Madam Oby Ezekwesili, hosted a Citizens Awareness Walk in Abuja today, on October 6, 2023, to commemorate the graduation of its Class of 2023. The event witnessed a gathering of students, faculty, alumni, and community members who came together to celebrate the graduates and emphasize the importance of civic engagement.
The Citizens Awareness Walk commenced at the Stratton Hotel in Asokoro, as participants assembled at Stratton hotel, donning customized t-shirts. Led by the graduating class, the procession made its way through the heart of Abuja, taking a route that passed by significant landmarks and public spaces.
Throughout the walk, participants moved peacefully with messages promoting civic awareness, good governance, and community involvement. They engaged with onlookers with discussions about local and national issues.
The event also featured prominent alumni and politicians who graduated from the school, they
stressed the importance of active citizenship and the impact graduates of SPPG could have in shaping public policies and governance.
As the walk concluded, participants gathered in a park for a closing ceremony. The graduates were celebrated for their dedication to the study of politics, policy, and governance.
