In a remarkable display of dedication and community service, the SISA SAPPHIRE 2023 Ambassadors concluded their 9-month journey with a heartwarming capstone project on October 17, 2023. These young volunteers set out to enhance the learning environment at LEA Primary School, Area 1, through the acquisition of six brand new school whiteboards.
The day commenced with a gathering of the Ambassadors at the Community Development Service (CDs) venue. As the national anthem and NYSC anthem resonated through the air, their enthusiasm soared. Under the leadership of Miss Divine and the new SISA Community Development Service (CDS) officer, Mr. Akin, they embarked on a mission to make a meaningful impact and forge lasting connections.
Their destination was LEA Primary School, where they received a warm welcome from the Head Teacher, Mrs. Margaret. Miss Divine and Mr. Akin eloquently expressed the purpose of their visit, evoking profound gratitude from Mrs. Margaret. The joy on her face was palpable, as she recognized the potential of the Ambassadors’ donation to transform the lives of their students.
Amidst smiles and excitement, the Ambassadors engaged with both students and teachers, capturing priceless moments through photography. The highlight of the day was the presentation of the much-needed whiteboards, which promised to enhance the learning experience for the students. Obarau Lucky, one of the pupils, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation, acknowledging the thoughtful generosity of the Ambassadors.
The impact did not conclude with the whiteboard donation. Ambassador Agboji Lucy took center stage, delivering an engaging lecture on entrepreneurship. The students were captivated as they learned the art of creating delectable puff puff, meat pie, and samosa. This entrepreneurial spark ignited the ambitions of young minds, inspiring them to dream big and pursue their passions.
With 25 Ambassadors participating, the day was an unequivocal success. This final project underscored the profound influence of collective action and the potential to effect change, one step at a time. The unwavering dedication and commitment of the Ambassadors have left a lasting legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
