The incident occurred when his friend, Akinola Adeleye, allegedly stabbed him to death during a heated argument.
The dispute unfolded two weeks ago on Idiagbon Street, adjacent to the local government headquarters, according to accounts from residents in the area. John had been staying at Akinola’s house when the confrontation took place.
Eyewitnesses recount that the dispute originated when Akinola consumed a plate of food at a local eatery but refused to pay on the spot. Instead, he asked the restaurant staff to include the cost on his friend John’s tab, who was not present at the time.
Upon learning of this unexpected debt, John confronted his friend upon returning home, triggering a quarrel that escalated into a physical fight. Shockingly, during the altercation, Akinola, consumed by anger, retrieved a knife and fatally stabbed John, leaving him bleeding on the ground.

There, the suspect was handed over to the authorities.
