The Department of State Security (DSS) has taken into custody a 23-year-old woman identified as Fildausi Ahamadu. She is accused of making grave threats of self-harm against individuals she believes played a role in the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, at the election petitions tribunal in Kano State.
Sources within the DSS, who requested anonymity, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. Fildausi Ahamadu, claiming allegiance to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Governor Abba Yusuf, came under scrutiny after a viral video circulated in the city.
In the video, delivered in the Hausa language, Fildausi vehemently attacked the presiding judge in the tribunal, warning that she would not hesitate to resort to extreme measures if she encountered the judge, even threatening to employ a bomb for a suicide attempt.
Additionally, she directed her ire towards Nasiru Gawuna, cautioning him against revealing his whereabouts, as she openly threatened to use a bomb vest for a suicide mission.
The video clip also saw Fildausi launch a scathing verbal assault on Vice President Kashim Shettima, accusing him of orchestrating the legal challenges faced by the NNPP in Kano State.
Sources have further disclosed that law enforcement operatives are actively pursuing Fildausi Ahamadu’s arrest and will subsequently bring her before the courts.
A DSS insider stated, “We are indeed taking Fildausi Musa Ahamadu to court because these threats should not be taken lightly.”
