This morning, a Dana Air aircraft with registration number 5N BKI, flying from Abuja to Lagos, veered off the runway while landing at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.
Fortunately, all 83 passengers and crew members onboard were unharmed, according to Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, the Head of Corporate Communications of the airline. He expressed relief that everyone disembarked safely, praising the crew for their professionalism in handling the situation.
Mr. Ezenwa confirmed that relevant authorities, including the AIB and NCAA, were notified of the incident. The airline’s maintenance team has grounded the aircraft involved for further investigation.
Acknowledging the swift response of airport authorities and the crew, Mr. Ezenwa extended gratitude to them and apologized to passengers for any inconvenience caused. He reassured passengers that their safety remains the top priority for Dana Air, emphasizing their full cooperation with authorities in investigating the incident.
