With the high rate of insecurity spreading out in the country, a very disturbing development shows that,no fewer than five female students from the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State have been abducted by suspected terrorists. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday at approximately 2:30 a.m., has sent shockwaves through the community.
The victims were seized from their residence, which is situated behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School along Tsaskiya Road. Eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists brazenly invaded the students’ residential quarters, leading to the abduction of the five young women.
Police authorities swiftly responded to the incident, with the arrest of one suspect connected to the abduction. The Katsina State Police Spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the occurrence of the abduction. He assured the public that the investigation is actively ongoing, with the primary objective of rescuing the abducted students from the clutches of these criminals.
“This distressing incident is indeed true, and we have taken swift action. One suspect has been apprehended in connection with the abduction, and our investigation is in progress as we work diligently to secure the safe release of the abducted students,” stated ASP Abubakar Sadiq.
