In a shocking development, the Adamawa State police command has taken a 36-year-old resident of Anguwar Diocese Kala’a into custody. Jafaru Adamu stands accused of a disturbing crime – the alleged rape of his 21-year-old neighbor’s wife. This incident, which has sent shockwaves through the community, transpired on August 15 during the afternoon hours, when the survivor’s husband was absent.
According to a statement issued by SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State police command, investigations have revealed that the suspect donned a black face mask and carried a knife, using it to threaten the victim into submission. In a shocking turn of events, the mask worn by the perpetrator fell off during the assault, prompting him to hastily escape through a window once the survivor recognized him.
The survivor’s husband promptly reported the incident to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Kala’a, leading to swift action by law enforcement.
Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed strong disapproval of this disturbing incident and has directed the officer in charge of the Family Support Unit to lead the investigation with utmost diligence.
